“Thank you for such a wonderful, calming and nurturing class on Monday. I felt so good afterwards, the headache I’d had all day had passed and I slept really well. It was also good to feel that I’d worked my muscles but without any uncomfortable stiffness the following day. Thank you once again for such a beautiful class.”

– Lesley

“In the broader context of moving back to the area for connection, ease and comfort, your class was like a homecoming.

I was able to lean into the space that I have moved here for – as though I was led.  I breathed deep and long – a little like dipping into a deep calming, cooling awareness.  I was so comfortable with the pace, the flow and am very grateful for all you bring to your people.

No wonder people have spoken about you for so long and with much love! ”

  • “I love how you mould our practices around the prevailing season. It has helped me to focus on what is happening in nature and how my body and spirit mirror, or sometimes are at odds with my environment. With love and gratitude.”

Yoga & Sound

Restorative Yoga & Sound Healing
Sunday 11th January
18.30-20.15
Croft Hall, Hungerford

Deeply healing and restorative. For this special and extended practice I collaborate with holistic health coach and sound healer Laura Penneycard. Laura plays a large variety of instruments including wind gongs, Himalayan singing bowls, chimes and drum. And her singing voice is sensational! I love working together, blending yoga and sound always feels intuitive and very powerful.

Expect a mix of meditative movements, sounds and stillness. Every session is different but always starts with a gong aura cleanse and finishes with a healing sound bath. Evenings usually include gentle Somatic Movements, Restorative Yoga, and might also include poetry, affirmations, meditations and sung mantras.

Feedback after our earlier sessions was immensely touching. The immersion in sounds and vibrations had a powerful effect on many, including me.

Suitable for beginners.

Please note – sounds baths and not advisable to attend if you suffer from epilepsy, are pregnant, fitted with a pacemaker, or triggered by sounds.

Our events usually fill up quick, please book to reserve your space.

NEW: Bespoke Treatment sessions for small groups.

Similar to our Yoga Therapy and Sound Healing evenings but especially created for you and your group of friends, and held at your home. For these smaller groups (max 8 people) we are able to offer an even deeper experience with use of essential oils, (self) massage and hands on guidance and adjustments. Did you know that singing bowls can be placed on the body too? Optional of course, but Laura would love to offer this experience, making your special evening more of a treatment than a practice!

“Wow – what an absolute treat of an evening. I cannot believe that was my first sound healing. The last week has been upside down and I was out of my body all week… until that moment. Sunday evening brought me back into my body and I loved every second of it. I shall be signing up for as many more of these as I can, and spreading the word.

Lots of love and many thanks for such a beautiful couple of hours.”

– Annabel

“Well what can I say… I slept incredibly well and felt so chilled and relaxed the next morning. I wasn’t expecting the feeling to continue through to the next day but it did. Such a wonderful feeling… one I am not very familiar with!

Thank you Maura, as always”

As much as I love teaching regular and private classes, somehow the hour or 90 minute sessions never seem long enough. I’m delighted to offer various events throughout the year for the chance to fully immerse into the practice of yoga and develop a deeper connection with our bodies and ourselves.

“I was lost for words at the end of our retreat yesterday.  It was healing beyond my dreams.  I can not thank you enough for creating such a wonderful, healing space. It was truly beautiful at so many levels- probably why it’s difficult to describe.

But I’ll remember how it felt. Thank you for the love and kindness you generously gave us all and for giving up your time and love through the day.  From the wise advice, healing space, loving food – the lot.

Please take care of yourself and replenish that wonderful reserves of yours. “

– Cristina

“Thank you so much for such a wonderful retreat. I loved every moment and appreciated all the thought and ideas you had invested in making it such a life-affirming experience.

I came away from the weekend not only with a greater sense of my own self worth and  a deep sense of inner calm but also a better understanding of my own need for stillness and peace.

I would love to make a yoga retreat an annual event in my life, I trust that whatever you organise will be just right. With much love and gratitude.”

Bespoke Yoga

Classes are tailored to your individual needs whether you are new to yoga, keen to deepen your current practice, or wish to focus on recovering from illness or injury. No rush, no pressure. One-to-one (or two-to-one) guidance, mentoring and support at your own pace. Sessions can also include meditation, breathing and relaxation techniques.

Bespoke yoga sessions for small groups

One-off events or regular classes created for you and your group of favourite people. Sessions can be held at your place, a venue of your choice, or I’d be more than happy to recommend lovely local places. Please get in touch with your thoughts, I look forward to hearing your ideas!

“Truly the very best yoga teacher I have ever had and there were some good ones! Maura’s yoga sessions are exceptional, with a variety of  gentle movements and breathing exercises preparing safely for very challenging poses followed by a  gradual wind-down finishing with complete relaxation. Every session is well thought through with precise calm instructions so one can follow with closed eyes. A truly inspirational teacher. After each session, whether class or one-to-one based,  I always feel inspired and renewed both in body and spirit. “

Marrakech

I’m delighted to be returning to our yoga home-from-home for the 4th year running. Our favourite slots have been confirmed. Please get in touch if you wish to join us!

Previous retreats were everything I hoped for and more. I totally fell in love with the Moroccan culture and with Tigmi, our hotel with its stunning Atlas Mountain views, beautiful pools, orange blossom-scented gardens, quirky bedrooms, charming terraces and hidden courtyards the moment we arrived. I adored early morning yoga by the open fire, and late afternoon yoga on the rooftop, with background birdsong, was absolutely magical. Returning the following year felt like coming home. It was wonderful to be welcomed back and looked after by the same friendly team, enjoy more Moroccan cuisine (incl their outstanding range of lunch-time salads) and dreamy spa treatments. But of course, and as always, it’s your commitment that makes these trips special. A heartfelt thank you to all of you for making these retreats so meaningful!

Yoga in Marrakech is very much a dream come true. I’d love to share it with more of you!

A non-refundable deposit of £200 is required to secure your place. A limited number of places is available on a first come, first served basis. I know some people missed out this year, I really hope that everyone who would like to come in 2027 will get a place!

Included are:

  • your accomodation at Tigmi Retreat Hotel
  • breakfast, lunch, dinner
  • 8 yoga classes
  • plenty of time for swimming, relaxing and exploring
  • use of yoga mats and props

Not included are:

  • flights
  • insurance
  • airport transfers
  • hammam or spa treatments
  • 1:1 bespoke yoga sessions
  • excursions

The hotel offers transfers to and from the airport for £10 per person if sharing or for £20 if you’re by yourself. Trips to Marrakech are £20 one way for up to 6 people. Optional excursions to the high Atlas Mountains and guided tours of the Medina are extra.

I know this seems a long way off but for these retreats to happen we need to pay the deposit (£200pp) to confirm the provisional booking with the hotel. Tigmi is very popular and other groups book far ahead. I am hoping to keep this a ‘for yoga friends and friends-of-friends’ retreat. This invitation is for you but feel free to invite like-minded souls.

Please get in touch via email if you have questions or would like to know more. I hope you don’t feel too rushed having to make a decision but please remember that bookings need to be confirmed and deposits need to be paid to secure your place.
